FS: Fender Jimmie Vaughan Strat

  1. Hey all.

I haven't posted a lot on here since I modded out my 5120 and Toronado with TV Joneses! However I'm looking to sell a guitar to help fund my guitar addiction.

I have a Fender Jimmie Vaughan Strat. Its two tone sunburst. I have too many strats so I have to sell it.

If you've never played one, these are basically 50's style strats but with friendlier radius/frets (9.5 and Medium Jumbos)... and also have a tone control wired to the bridge pickup.

There are a couple minor marks and chips, the worst of which I have highlighted in the photos below. Backplate has a few marks too.

Everything is stock but the tuners (upgraded to Wilkinsons, direct replacement), pickguard (original owner changed it to a 3-ply, I restored it to a 1-ply Warmoth), and strap buttons (Dunlop for Straplocks).

Serial starts with MSN60. I have a lot of trouble dating these but just looking at it I'd assume its from the mid 00's. Its not one of the earlier poplar ones.

I'm looking for $440 ($400 + shipping, basically). Paypal only, US only. And if it sells I will indeed make a donation to the Gretsch Pages :)

  2. I just got one of these, from a member here too! Same price, absolute bargain! I got the Olympic White but the Sunbursts look awesome too!

    The pic link isnt working!

  3. I think that amidst the plethora of Strat variants the Jimmie Vaughan model tends to be rather overlooked, yet it's such a good guitar. To me, few players have sounded — or looked — more rock'n'roll than Jimmie Vaughan .

Don't know what type of Strat this is, but I like it...

  4. The JV is the real McCoy. It's the one I would get if I were in the market for a new Strat...

  5. Yeah, I don't know why that pic link wont work but photobucket is really starting to frustrate me. Hang on.

  6. Dave, I believe that is one of JV's Fullerton Era Reissue strats from the early 80's

  7. Great necks on these!

  8. Nice bridge/trem on these as well. Someone should pick this up :)
