Hello again,
Just for fun : who's your favorite Eddie Cochran song ? for me it's : My Way, amazing lead vocal and lyrics, splendid Saxophone part and terrific drummin' from Earl Palmer. At last immaculate production.

Oh man too many to pick just one. I like Hallelujah I Lover Her So. The version prior to the orchestra overdubs.

A dead heat between C'mon Everybody and Summertime Blues. Predictable, I know. But it is the sound of those records that always makes them stand out, not only from other Eddie Cochran records but from just about anyone else's rock'n'roll records of the period. There's all that slap, thud and wallop going on, making such a magical sound. I've heard dozens of live attempts to cover these songs in the Cochran style but no-one even gets close. Great vocal and rhythm guitar, of course. But ace drummer Earl Palmer really gives those records such a unique quality — and the guys in the control room knew how to capture that pure analog slam.
In third and fourth place, Somethin' Else and Twenty Flight Rock.

Something' Else.
The drums/ cymbals are so great. Not to mention the storyline and everything else about it.

"C'mon Everybody." It sounds huge, even through a small speaker. The production, singing and playing are thumpin', and somethin' else.

"What's the matter can't I charge it? Man, we don't get these things for free!"
Got to agree with Spike here. These are both rockabilly gems.
Probably one of my all time favorite lines is ""Man, I got a sawbuck." He said, "No, you need 2 bucks more"

I like the instrumental "Nice 'n Easy". Tabbed it out when I first started learning rockabilly.

I'm with Dave K on this.

I kind of think "Three Steps To Heaven" has a sweet charm to it.
And "Don't Ever Let Me Go" is another not too well known song that I love.
But "C'mon Everybody" and "Somethin' Else" have my vote as the best ROCKERS!

Strolling guitar sums of the 50's for me perfectly

Summertime Blues, C'mon Everybody, Somethin Else, obviously. These are the songs that made me want to pick up a guitar.
Little Angel (great vocal), Nervous Breakdown (this is rock n roll), Rock N Roll Blues, Am I Blue, Milk Cow Blues, Completely Sweet.

Summertime Blues & Twenty Flight Rock are my obvious choices, I've been singing them in the band for over 20 years now. My Way is another favourite of mine, hell they're all favourites!!!

I pretty much like everything Eddie did, since I first heard him on the radio in the late 50's, but my favorite has always been "Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie". To me, it's the prototypical "modern" rock n' roll song in it's structure, and the instrumental break is a killer.
