Gretsch Guitars G5436T ELECTROMATIC PRO JET FSR Electric Guitar White
Looks like the White Jets are coming back. And by the model number it looks like it will be with a bigsby this time around. If they look like the new jets with blacktop filters I might have to try and score one used in a year or two

If it is the new version with blacktops, chambering and master volume I'm in!
-
Sal
The new pro jet will have actual HS filtertrons, not blacktop. Chrome hardware not gold. Includes ebony Space Controller Bridge. And Master tone and volume switches. And Maybe a b5 (dont know for sure yet)

MacStevenXIII
Where did you get that info from Sal?
-
MacStevenXIII
Just saw on the other forum that someone said they received an email from a Gretsch rep stating,
- Arched Laminated QUILTED maple.
- Chrome Hardware - not gold!
- Comes equipped with an ebony Space Control Roller Bridge
- Pickup AND Tone Master switches
- Filtertron Pickups - NOT blacktops.

Well, that seems a mite bizarre. Why bother to specify a quilted top, if it's painted?
And we've never seen an Electro with full-blown Filtertrons. I'm wondering if those specs might be cut-and-pasted from another model.
We'll get the straight skinny from Señor Guiseppe le Carducci tomorrow.

Also, how is a space control bridge going to work on a ProJet with a set neck?
-
Suprdave
Man, I'm itchin' to see what these will look like.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. And at a $700 street price I don't see that happening.

WHO is it that you contacted Sal??

This is basically a made in China Duo Jet. If Gretsch was worried about the Electromatic line eating into the sales of the Pro-line it appears they aren't worried anymore.
I've played Squiers that are every bit as good in the playability department as Fenders. It seems FMIC is taking the same approach with Gretsch now.
It sounds like it's going to be a great guitar!

I have an email into Joe to confirm specs. The only change I requested on this from the current Pro Jet was the color. Sadly our photo department is very behind. Took lamost a month to get photos of the new Power Jet.

I see you all found my thread that I started on the other forum..haha.
I'm just as excited as everyone else
I'm planning to hit Guitar Center sometime this weekend and trade in my current Jet for this one. Most likely ordering the white - maybe I'll have photos of it up before stock ones come up! Haha. The employee I purchase everything from Guitar Center from said that GC's warehouse already has'em in stock and ready for shipment.

I also forgot to mention guys from the other forum - the spokesman on the phone told me that there are also two other colors (someone in the other forum reminded me):
G5436T ELECTROMATIC PRO JET FSR Electric Guitar Regular White G5436T ELECTROMATIC PRO JET FSR Electric Guitar Regular Orange G5436T ELECTROMATIC PRO JET FSR Electric Guitar Regular Burgundy
If you look at MusiciansFriend.com, you can see that they are having a "Free Gretsch Hoodie" giveaway with the purchase of any qualifying Gretsch, and the G5436T models are there with colors of White, Orange, and Burgundy.
Now we have three colors to choose from
-
Nezdispenser
Orange and Burgundy are Flame Tops, not in-stock and not available for sale yet. These won't be carried in GC stores, you can special order the White one online there.
