Rare 1984 TV appearance

1

As I usually do, while trolling YouTube, I put in Duane's name and found a TV appearance I'd never seen. The show was "Thick Of The Night" hosted by Alan Thicke, who went on to gain fame as one of the stars of "Growing Pains." In this clip, from 1984, Duane is joined by Steve Douglas on sax.

I'd say it's pretty cool but, hey, we're talking Duane, so it HAS to be.

Thanks for posting this link.
It's always great to see "new" clips of Duane and this is great quality in every sense. It's very cool !

Is there a clip of Duane singing "Break my mind" when he appeared on the Golden Shot here in the UK

I doubt it very much, sadly. I well remember my disappointment when the compere Bob Monkhouse had introduced Duane the previous week and said they had run out of time. :| I'm pretty sure Duane performed 'live' when he sang it the following week. I always preferred the flip side - 'Lovingbird' particularly for the brilliant guitar sound as the record fades. The clip I would really love to see and hear is when Duane performed 'Niki Hoeky' on the Simon Dee Saturday night TV show. Unfortunately I was on holiday at the time and it's before video recorders were invented !

A few years ago Brian Matthew related to listeners of Sounds of the Sixties, my account of the " Golden Shot " scenario vis a vis " Break My Mind " - They sent me a playing hard to get copy of the disc, with BBC Radio 2 logo and Brians picture - Very nice, but without the original flip side. I would concur about its appeal ! - The " Golden Shot " was right on target - and the topic of conversation at work after Duanes appearence . - It had livened up Sunday tea time ! - I missed the " Simon Dee " show with Duane playing " Niki Hoeky " - Notwithstanding that I added the record to my collection on its release, somehow the absence of the hallmark " Twang " gave rise to bewilderment ! - But then seasoned "Twangster" devotes, know what makes the earth move !
