Duane Eddy's House of Twang

Fats Domino, RIP

1

I recall that he was supposed to appear at the Meadowlands with Duane, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis but he came down with a sore throat (laryngitis?) and wasn't able to sing.

In my book Fats Domino was so much more than a rock'n'roll pioneer , he was a visionary in the music business ! - Years ahead of the official birth of the rock genre , he was putting markers down ! ------ His songs like " Blueberry Hill " and " My Blue Heaven " when given Duane's great guitar treatment , helped to consolidate the position and strength of both musicians . ------- Perhaps Deed could say if Fats and Duane were ever on the same show together , or if they actually knew each other ? ------ RIP Fats Domino !

Duane posted on Twitter to say goodbye to his friend. An absolute master: Rock and roll, ska and it's descendants, pop music in general, all would have been very different if Fats had not existed. And such a wonderful singer and stylist. RIP Antoine.

You're right Rich, he was supposed to appear at the Meadowlands. Here's a promo for that show.
