Good to see Bob Berryhill original member of ' The Surfaris ' , reminded me that " Yep " appears on some of their albums ! - Perhaps they thought that the flip side of Duane's " Peter Gunn " had a surfing edge to it !

"Yep" appears on The Surfaris' first LP, "Wipe Out" - and isn't even played by The Surfaris! Apart from "Wipe Out" and its flip, "Surfer Joe," all the other tracks are by The Challengers. That's why The Surfaris' second LP was entitled "The Surfaris Play" - a jokey reference to the fact that they didn't play on their debut!
