Great question, mark t. You are right that generally there would be a band or group of musicians, however, Duane was rather unique in that he was a solo artist who had a long string of hits by that time. He would use his group, The Rebels, when their schedules allowed, for tv appearances. The fact is, his entire group were also very busy working as session players in LA at this time, (looks to be about 1965-66), and Duane had no problem going it alone.
