Here's a quick up-date on the project:-
Executive producer Steve Fishell described the track featuring Duane as follows- "Dan Dugmore kicked off the project in June by joining forces with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and certified guitar legend Duane Eddy to record the beautiful title track BLUE JADE. Written and first performed by steel guitar titan Buddy Emmons, the new version features tons of twang from the legendary Duane Eddy alongside Dan Dugmore's soulful, plaintive, elegant steel lines".
Future plans include Albert Lee teaming up with Jaydee Maness in LA and the release is scheduled for February 2013.
But before that can happen, MPI needs to raise a target of $10,000 within the next 3 weeks to release the funding needed to complete the project.
And you can all help!!
Check out http://www.kickstarter.com/...
At the site, you can pre-order the CD for $20 (plus $5 postage outside the US), or a high quality download for $10 by making a pledge. Other pledges will allow you to attend one of the recording sessions, or you can make a pledge for signed posters and also a signed Epiphone guitar; at least six of the musicians involved in the project will sign the posters and the guitar - hopefully Duane will be able to sign at least some of the items, but best to think of his signing the item as a bonus.
The cost of postage to the UK is included in the cost of the pledges, except for the guitar; Steve will advise you of the cost but at a guess expect to pay around an extra $300 for delivery to the UK.
So far, $6100 has been pledged, so you can hep make this project happen by ordering the CD or a download of the album, and why not treat yourself to a special poster or a unique guitar, signed by the masters!!
