Billy Zoom's Jet Set

Current amp rig

Hey BZ. Was that a Carvin Bel Air you were using alongside the Blue Killer? Didn't get close enough for a good look.

You must be talking about this one. From the concert Sunday night in Sacramento. Second photo of BZ getting ready to play his sax and I'll add he played it well.

Hmmm, having problems with posting the photos. Hopefully a mod can clean this up. Not sure what amp that is.

That's a prototype that I built for G&L about 8 or 9 years ago. They were considering adding an amp line, but they decided it would be too expensive to build cheap. It's either 30 watts or 10 watts. I always use it on the 10 watt setting. Pair of 6L6's, active EQ, Vintage 30. It has the More channel that goes from 11 to 20.

It originally had a G&L logo on it.

Funny how the music industry allows the worst decisions to be made for non musical reasons by non musicians. Not surprising, just funny. It's the same in health care, and that's why I walked away from mgmt.

Very cool amp BZ. I'd love to hear more about it. Looks about the same weight as the cowboy amp. You were getting some pretty killer feedback with your hollowbody. Does it get hard to control?

Sometimes. That's why I ride that volume pedal all the time. Even with only 10 watts the guitar never wants to stop playing. It's a fun challenge though.

Jeez, BZ, a 10 watt tube amp from Zoom amplifiers seems like a can't miss to me. Guess it sounds much easier than it is. Maybe one day.

Maybe now. 8-9 years ago, everybody was still all about ~50W amps.

I just saw Reverend Horton Heat in philly last night and he told me his amp was 20 watts, it was a gretsch and he had a monster sound! And Billy, he spoke nicely of you when I mentioned I was really into X

Wish I could see you in S.F. tonight. Tear it up man!
