The Bass-ment

Has anybody seen or played one of these?

That is just too cool!

5

I wasn't sure they'd give to me as it's a trademarked name. My alternative was RAMBLER.

6

drmilktruck, I'll see that Gretsch and raise you one...

7

cool, Jim. 8-)

so, now if I see those plates on a car at My Music Store, I'll know that you're there. ha ha :D

And you think that "Gretsch" is not trademarked?

Yes, that's what I said. I'm surprised I was given the Gretsch plate as Gretsch is a trademark. Lucky for me, probably the person who processed it at the DOT didn't know what a Gretsch was.

Cool!

Well, we have a doctor and a lawyer with cool license plates. How about a butcher, a baker and a candle stick maker?

Had to throw that in guys. Cool plates. Really.

13

I debated between that one and G6136, but thought that no one would know the model number. So, it was the WHT FLCN.

Agreed. You made the right Choice. :D

Here ya go!!!! For my Brian Setzer G6120SSLVO!!!! Sorry, it's not the best photo in the world, but it's nighttime here when I found this thread and went out to photograph.

17

Here's a better photo...

18

According to my plates, my nickname should be "Scrabble," like Cardinals pitcher Marc Rzepczynski.:D

I wasn't aware the lettering couldn't be trademarked. The "E" variant was taken, so I took this one, from the Kids' Plates special plates. I even had to tell them on the application (I did it online) what it meant and I told them straight up, it was Gretsch Guitars. Maybe it's okay to do that in CA....I don't think they're gonna try to get me to return it though...it's not obscene, although I am 25 miles from the Gretsch custom shop and wouldn't want to have them see it and complain about it....but really, it's free advertising

I'll be dropping by there later today to pick up a restrung and set up guitar.

I'd never use a vanity plate. Too easy to target.

Too much road rage.

I prefer to be as non-descript as possible.

That being said, I have a hula girl with a green dress on my dash, and the windshield is cracked. Probably not too many gray Honda CRV's with that going on.

Maybe I will get a vanity plate.

Great plates!

Wish we could do that in the UK. In this socialist land of big government and the even bigger European Union (of Soviet Socialist Republics & Grudging Monarchies) it is illegal (on newer vehicles) not to display the EU stars badge on your licence plate!

25

Yes, if it wasn't for the stars on license plates thing, socialism would be pretty much workable.
