Bass Neck

  1. ok here is my problem ,, i need a guitar builder to make some major mods on a danelectro 6 string guitar neck ,,, remove the fret board and replace it with a new fretboard and put in new frets and dots ,, i am building a danelectro double neck copy of the late 50's early 60's where the bass neck is the exact same length as the 6 string neck ,,, the headstock holes i can handle ,,, any thoughts out there on who can do this for me ?? thunks

  2. Why the new fretboard? Changing the scale length?

  3. i am building a danelectro double neck and those old dano's the bass neck if the same length as the 6 string neck ,,,,, thats why i need a 6 string neck reworked,,,,,,,, something about those old dano doublenecks i just totaly love , and the fact it was the very first guitar i ever held when i was little

  4. Unless you're changing the scale length, the present fretboard and fret spacing should work.Weren't all Dano fretboards rosewood anyway?

  5. the fret spacing is different

  6. Curt is your man . . .

  7. i am almost done with my danelectro longhorn convert , finish it tomorrow , i'll post some pics ,,,, then i will start building a the dano doubleneck , gonna be fun !!,,,,, yeah i'll contact him ,,,, i can buy an old dano bass for the neck , but it would be a shame to destroy a nice old dano , thanks Andy !!

  8. Speaking of which, Subway had some new old stock stuff, including 1960s bass necks, and their internet pages are not that informative or updated, but here's a link: http://www.fatdawg.com/dane... be sure to ask about the correct style headstock though, they have (had?) several kinds, like the 4 on a side they converted to 4+2 for those baritones.

  9. hey thanks Mr Flayer ,, i'll call them !!
