I own and have gigged w this amp - love it. Probably closer to 60 lbs, though. Used both Fender -P & Js through it, no acoustics. No service issues, solidly built, versatile sound, very warm. Good luck.

I had a Gallien Krueger 400RB I used for about 12 years but switched to a Hartke combo (1155, haven't made it in a long time, has a 3500 amp with a 15" and a 5") about 12 years ago. It sounds good and is reasonably portable for a bass amp.
I used to have a Fender 400PS. It was way too big and heavy.
My favorite bass amp that I used to own was an Ampeg B25B, which I had from 1973 until 1983. Unfortunately, it was only 55 Wrms, which was a little marginal for the loud 70's and 80's. So I switched to the 200 W Gallien Krueger. I didn't realize at the time that a 200 W solid state amp doesn't sound much louder than a 55 W tube amp.
I recently got a 1971 Ampeg V4 which I slightly modified to make it a better fit for bass. This was an effort to satisfy my longing for the B25B, which would be loud enough for anything I do today. I added a toggle switch which switches out the mods if I want to use it with guitar. It is surprisingly loud for a 100 W amp. I'm happy with it, though I haven't used for a gig yet (I may next weekend).
This is the greatest Bass amp ever, 110 Watts, with HUGE TRANSFORMERS! Seriously the transformers are bigger than the bass player in the picture.
It punches and roars, compresses just a little, but always with headroom. We use it for double bass with a stereo pickup too (it has two channels). You'll never find an Eminar in the US. But it shouldn't be too hard to find a big ol' head like this. From the early seventies, they were advertised as guitar/bass/organ amps. And they have plenty of power and tone for each.

i saw the geraldine fibbers once& both the bass and violin player were using one,you could almost hear the chulk dust fall off the bow it sounded amazing!,but for my needs.my pro 3's work fine,for halff the price!
A friend of mine just got a little Ashdown 12" bass combo like another poster mentioned for $200 off c-list. Quite impressive warm tone, and just loud enough to play with a drummer. 12's REALLY sound good for bass in my opinion. Sounds like a tube amp, and light weight. Of course, it's no B-15...
I use a 1968 Fender Bassman 100 head and cabinet for bass (Höfner sounds/records great out of it), as does the custom Rick 4003S.
Got a brand new sunburst P-bass from a friend in Germany, about 10 years ago. Replaced the strings with Boomers, and been using that direct.
Would love to have one of those acoustic Gretsch fretless basses. Heard one the other day, sounds fantastic. Now it seems they don't make them anymore.
My $0.02. 15's are a must. It's not so much 200 watts as it is 2X the power of your guitar player's amp.
Go to some local stores and try out some stuff, then go shop online! haha

I have always been a fan of Kustom bass amps. I've played bass in a couple of different bands and always used Kustom. They sounded great to me and were extremely reliable.
Kustom and Ampeg...Only two I have played through (and Fender Bassman)!
Wattage depends on your drummer and guitar players. It's not complicated.
