This thread has so positively influenced me that I bought a nice brown suit today.

Result, Jeff. Single or double breasted? What have you got in mind by way of shoes? Let's hear all about it.

Well done Jeff O - a nice brown suit. I trust it was towards the dark side - I think light brown suits just don't cut the mustard.
And it must be brown shoes - oh - and brown socks. Black just does not go - oh no.
And yes - as Shuie asks - single or double breasted? Double is out at the moment, but I must admit I do prefer a double breasted suit - to me it just looks - well - smarter.

Man, we are rapidly approach the magic 1000 mark... On the issue of track pants, mentioned above, I absolutely hate them (sorry). That is common attire down here in green country and it drives me crazy. Nothing worse than seeing a 400 lbs lazy sob wearing athletic attire. I mean, c'mon! The other then, along those lines, are the people who think it is perfectly appropriate to wear their sleep pants to the grocery store... with their nasty house shoes. I swear sometimes that this place is the underarm of humanity!!!!

Scary stuff there unclejohn, scary stuff. Do they also wear those ugly house slippers that look like the feet of a muppet strung out of bad discount crack?

Speaking of suits and sartorial musicians, Neil Young often run the gamut, from beautiful suits (the Prairie Wind DVD) to the shabbiest of t-shirts and jeans. But on his recent tours he's been sporting a kind of blazer that looks like it's been splattered with paint. I don't know if it's a custom-designed jobbie or self-made, but you see it here in this fan-shot video of him performing "Lost in Space" for the first time EVER.

Maybe not a classic song (from the 1980 album Hawks and Doves) but interesting that decided to pull it out of his hat(!) now. Love the harmonizing 12-strings from Ben Keith and Anthony Crawford.

Yesterday I was in the midst of a discussion over what kind of pomp I could make out of this. Spare me the Cousin It references! Myself I think it looks like Proteus on a windy day.

I see a lot of pomp potential there, rj. Don't forget to snap a photo once you've given yourself the pomade treatment. Then we can do a "before" and "after" comparison. Should be fun.
