OK what's everyone's favorite Cologne.
My wife just got me this, the blue one
Here's their description, it smells great
Our newest gentlemen's fragrance is a fresh expression of classic citrus aromatic notes, subtle iris and wet greens with a smooth, woody finish.

I follow men wearing "Obsession." I lost way too much at a blackjack table just because the guy next to me was wearing it, and I couldn't walk away.

I would hope there will be samples for all gentlemen at the door.

Hows about a Ralph Lauren Polo parley for the deckhands whilst the schooner and good captain are being freshly and thoroughly careened?

I'm partial to Joop; it's quite strong so it's a good idea to dilute it with a bit of water first. Indeed, I remember reading an article many years ago that recommended doing that with all cologne / aftershave / eau de toilette / perfume. Another tip - never apply eau de toilette or aftershave on your face - it should only be applied to the area just under and behind your earlobes. Eau de toilette contains mostly alcohol so it dries out your skin. Take THAT Shuie.

I sometimes apply eau de toilette elsewhere, some girls have noticed. But right, use sparingly, as with water.

I certainly mean absolutely no offense to Miss Falcon, but it would appear that Cap'n Protey could give 'er a run for the money in an ad campaign. (however limited that might be to the guitar buying Pirate Contingent.)
Brilliant job, Piratesrule, might we see this portrait of the Cap'n a bit more grand? Bigger, I'm asking please.

I must apologize, Shuie, for my intrusion. This pirate escapade has been a hilarious diversion, but I know I must take my leave of the hallowed halls of the GGS, as you gentlemen continue in your quest for the perfect suit of clothes.

Attitude is part and parcel of any given "look", not unlike Einstein's Unified Field Theory. Time and tides make the man or woman to some extent, but this latest was merely an attempt to get more cozy with photoshop after a poor first go. Think of this second try as a passing broadside at flattery. All of you in this forum give and give until it hurts, then you dig down deep and give some more. You are a wonder, people. And as I am but a poor player with no technical advice to offer, support and appreciation for the village - it takes a village I read somewhere - is the best I can do.
The axes are really Country Gents plundered from a nearby avatar, and those are guitar stands by the way. A line call would be advisory before a blowup so as to avoid suspicion of malice and possible future t-shirt sales. Yipes!
Now, returnig to the topic at hand; is it ok to wear a dark grey dress shirt, skinny early 60's maroon tie (full Windsor of course, many thanks) with black dress slacks, black belt, socks (with appropriate pattern) and shoes but no jacket to my first real job interview in about a year? A hint of cologne or none at all? Any advice is appreciated, as I am a bit nervous.

What type of position? While I can certainly appreciate the hipster approach of a skinny tie, you might want to opt for a more traditional approach/width for a tie. Good luck on the interview.

It is a parks maintenance tech position, in a smallish local city. I understand the tie is not universal, but it was one of my dad's and remains my personal favorite. One or two of the interviewers will have seen it on him in years past, and on me as I wore it at his service. I wanted to wear my Larry Mahan boots Okie style (pant legs inside boots) but that would have been a bit much even for me. Thanks.

Sounds great. I really like the idea, even with the boots in the pants. Good luck on your interview. You are in Washington State? Man I would love to come out that way to do some fly fishing. I've never been to the PNW.

Yep, George's own, Washington State, and the city - Mt Vernon to boot. Fishin', hmmmmm, see Fanny Alger's video STEELHEAD for local conditions and flavor. Is there a favorite local venue/bands post by the way? This is a great bunch of guys and I saw them at The Star Bar in Anacortes last Saturday. Nice gig. I was wearing Acme boots from 1982, twenty-something year old Levi 501's Okie style and an almost equally vintage Oregon State University tee. I was the SECOND worst dressed in the house. Cheers!

When I am at work, it is all suits all the time. However, when I am at home it is Levi 501, cuffed, black engineer boots and western shirts. black belt, 1952 mexican switchblade, and a chain wallet. So, in any given situation, unless there is a revival of Shanana i am typically the worst dressed. But, I like my style so I am sticking with it. Plus, i am married so I don't need to impress the ladies.
