Bax, do you have any plans to make a mobile-friendly version of the GDP?
I can just about get by with the layout format on a regular PC screen, but it's pretty much impossible on a WM handheld.

Yep, I would really also enjoy having a mobile version of the GDP. Although, it does provide an opportunity to go over to the G-T site on my phone when I am away from my desktop.
I don't think you realize how much word that'd be. I'd just wait till the phone makers have thought of a better way utilizing the net.
Looks great on iPhone.
It looks the same on the iPhone. For some reason I can't use the landscape keyboard (bummer) but it looks pretty good. I don't mind G-T's mobile version either but I've seen some sites that take forever to load.
Russ, landscape should work fine, I posted this in LS.
This site works great for me as is - because - don't laugh, well I guess you can, I don't get offended easily - I never entered the world of cell phones! Haven't really had a need for one.
Surely there must be a simple way to have a WM interface (auto-selectable based on OS), that accesses the data in the forum database and shows it in a simplified full screen format.
There's a lot of stuff here that wouldn't necessarily be needed on a Q&D handheld version, and omitting all of that un-needed stuff would not only save the encoder (Bax) a lot of programming, but it would also save the user eating up his data package.
Just a thought...
It's pretty good on my Nokia 5800.
You're right Curt. The issue is if you click reply in one perspective you can't change it. It's nice to figure that out though. I feel like it's a good lesson learned.
You mean you can get all this on a phone!
I don't think i'd get it on mine!
I would gladly accept a stripped down version of the GDP much like the G-T site has for its mobile version. I frequently want to view the GDP on my phone, but can't get the full browser edition on my phone.
Strip down the GDP or buy a $99.00 phone that has more technology that the Lunar Lander?
C'mon ric12, drop some coin!
Hmmm...smart phone here. I can do most anything else on it. Palm Treo.
Old school baby, old school.
C'mon, Curt, is it really "old school?" When I first got it, it was cutting edge. What would you recommend? It has to have a Mobile Windows operating system so that I can synch it up with my calendaring and contacts in Outlook.
Ric, you can sync all your Outlook and calendaring with the iPhone. I use mine with our Exchange server at work in lieu of the standard company issue crackberry.
Works great.
bonedaddy, are you able to access the GDP easily from your iPhone? Do you have a screen image large enough to enable you to really read and post on the GDP?
Actually, it's on my to-do list. It's not all that hard to configure, the harder part is writing the new page templates. Not hard, actually, it just takes time.
Curt said: Strip down the GDP or buy a $99.00 phone that has more technology that the Lunar Lander?Curt, I just re-read your remarks and you may have misunderstood me. I didn't mean strip down the GDP for a full-browser edition, but merely to strip it down for a mobile version. I don't know if you have ever viewed the G-T site on a phone, but you can't get pictures, you aren't forced to view the advertising, etc. That is what I meant by "strip down."

You da man...
The great thing about the iPhone, Ric, is that you can zoom in on the GDP as close as you like. Typing is pretty easy too.
Ric12, never take me seriously I'm just doing my best to keep the stock moving.
Ric, like Pappy says, you can zoom in and read just fine. Pretty fine grained control over how you see things, size wise.
