- This song was largely my tribute to Fred Gretsch Senior, who at the age of fifteen, took over the Gretsch corporation after the passing of his father.
The story entwines Fred's life with the divinity of God's providence, who, in my opinion must have been helping old Freddy! At least, I like to believe that!
I think all musicians want to believe that their instrument carry in them some form of inspirational spiritual presence that is greater than ones self.
This song is my view of the inspirational force of God, that moved on Freddy Gretsch to make such special instruments.
It is that specialty that Fred Senior received, and Fred Gretsch the 3rd recaptured.
In other words, Fred Gretsch the 3rd, has reestablished the lineage provided by Fred Gretsch Sr. Therefore, in doing so Freddy Gretsch the 3rd has passed that lineage on to you and I. Now, we can enjoy knowing that we owners of Gretsch guitars are heirs to the special lineage between these instruments and God who originally inspired Freddy Gretsch Senior.
