John McDonald (Concrete Clover)

About
I grew up in South San Jose in the 70's and 80's. As a kid I attended Catholic schools for elementary and high school. In college I utilized the public California State University system and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo from 1989-1994, obtaining my 5-Year Bachelor of Architecture degee in 1994. I was a study abroad architecture student in Copenhagen, Denmark for the academic year 1992-93. I have seen almost all the major cities in Europe and Scandinavia while overseas. I can speak a little Danish, but am not fluent in the language. I began taking the Architect's Registration Exams in 1995 and completed all 8 sections of it by 2005. In 2012, I completed the final California Supplemental Examination and was awarded my California Architect's License----C 33964 is my license number. In 2012 I opened my own little atelier working out of my home as a an architect. My firm name is Studio Blueprint. The real benefit of having your own license is that you can work for yourself. And.....you can work from home. Los Angeles traffic is terrible and I worked 50 miles from home for 10 years as a practicing professional. Working from home is the best move I ever made in my work/life decisions. Roll out of bed, take a shower and have breakfast and do your work 10 feet away. I do additions and renovations for existing homes. I am a devoted fan of the San Jose Sharks professional hockey team and the San Francisco Giants professional baseball team. I plan on tuning into the Sharks online radio broadcasting listening to the games this coming season, 2015-16.
