Gretsch Amplifiers: 6149 Reverb

The unusual 6149 Reverb amp could be used as a reverb unit when linked to another amp, or as a small amp (but without reverb) when used alone. When it was used standalone, the intensity knob became a volume control.

I have only used the reverb of my 6149 a few times, and it was over 35 years ago so I won't comment on that. But as an amp it is not really the key to tone heaven you might expect. I have to admit it is dull sounding, very lacking in treble. But I have gotten very nice sounds from mine using various treble boosting devices.
